About Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), or University of Technology Malaysia, is an innovation-led research university. UTM has three campuses: the main campus in Johor Bahru, a branch campus in the Malaysian capital city Kuala Lumpur, and a newer branch campus in Pagoh. It is a graduate-focused university, with 56% of its student population postgraduate students – the highest in Malaysia. UTM is one of the top universities in Malaysia and ranks 203 in the QS World University Rankings 2023.

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia had become a BYOD (bring your own device) environment, where students and academic staff used their own laptops, tablets, and smartphones. UTM’s IT team faced the following challenges in maintaining network access quality and ensuring a positive user experience:
