Embarking on her military journey, Col. Francel Margareth Padilla-Taborlupa graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in 2000, armed with the values of courage, integrity, and loyalty that would shape her path ahead.
Her next adventure took her to the Army Management Information Center (AMIC), where she became the champion behind military Information Systems and Digitalization. It was a challenging yet exhilarating experience, juggling data and systems with finesse to keep the Philippines’s defense operating at its peak.
The next stop of her journey was the prestigious Presidential Security Group (PSG), where she donned the hat of Aide-de-Camp and Communications and Security Officer. Navigating the corridors of power, she balanced professionalism with a touch of charm, ensuring the safety of the nation’s leaders with unwavering dedication.
But the plot took an unexpected twist when she joined the National Task Force Against COVID-19 as the Information Systems (IS) Officer. In a global pandemic, she rose to the occasion, using her technical expertise to support the country's response efforts, collaborating with different agencies for integration, interoperability, and efficiency.
Never one to shy away from challenges, she then took command of the 7th Signal Battalion, leading her troops in the Northern Luzon area. Orchestrating Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber (C4S) operations, she ensured seamless coordination for military objectives for several major AFP and Army units with determination and resolve.
Amidst all these, she championed an initiative called “Cyber for Peace”. Through this initiative, she utilized technology for sustainable development, aiming to harness the power of technology for the greater good of society.
And now, in her latest role as the first-ever female spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), she brings a blend of professionalism and warmth to the forefront. With her steady demeanor and quick wit, she is ready to represent the AFP with pride, upholding the values of courage, integrity, and loyalty while inspiring others to follow in her footsteps.
