After many years of architectural evolution, the landscape of the infrastructure platform has been extended to edge and cloud. Business workloads are evolving from traditional monolithic architecture to microservice based architecture. This type of modern application is more suited to be run on containers and managed by Kubernetes.
Containerized workloads can be instantly spun up and run across different environments, be it on-premise private cloud, public cloud or edge locations. But change doesn't happen overnight, and virtual machines will be playing a major role in running enterprise applications for the foreseeable future. No matter if it's container or VM, the requirements for infrastructure stay more or less the same, requiring reliability, security, scalability, performance. To effectively address these requirements, Sangfor has released the latest version of their HCI & SCP platform that natively support VMs and containers, with significant enhancements of reliability, security, performance and operability.
On HCI & SCP 6.2.0, a slew of innovations and improvements have been implemented.

PaaS (Platform as a Service)
Going beyond IaaS (infrastructure as a Service), Sangfor now offers PaaS with its K8s based platform KubeManager. Besides the core K8s features like Pods, high availability and auto-scaling, Sangfor has also added comprehensive monitoring and logging, enterprise-grade image registry , app store and intuitive multi-cluster management, to make K8s work for you in an effective way.
DR Testing & Enhancements
DR testing has finally been made available! DR effectiveness can now be easily validated without any impact on production. DR management has now been optimized to business level instead of VMs, meaning VMs that make up an application can be grouped into a business group and the startup sequence of the VMs as well as business groups can be defined in recovery.
VM Encryption
- The VM virtual disks are now encrypted with AES-256 algorithm
- Disk-based storage virtual volume
- Unlike node-based virtual volume, it is able to create virtual volumes with minimum 3 nodes. Two virtual volumes can be created to isolate workloads in terms of performance and capacity.
Application center
SCP 6.2.0 now supports application center and two applications (MySQL and CDH) are provided to streamline application deployment.
Improved operability
HCI now supports disk life prediction, while storage capacity prediction improves visibility into storage capacity usage. Management, business, VxLAN and storage networks can now be converged to minimum two 10GE ports to simplify deployment. VMs and hosts can be applied affinity and anti-affinity rules to specify workload placement.
With the release of HCI & SCP 6.2.0, Sangfor is enabling customers to step into a new era of cloud, with the support of containers, enhanced reliability, security and performance.
